Web Developer


As Venntro's Web Developer you will work in development teams to build improvements and maintain components on the company’s White Label Dating platform.

Working closely with other developers, designers, testers and project leads, you will ensure that we provide and deploy effective solutions that meet the company’s commercial goals.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Computer Science or Software Engineering graduate with some commercial experience, or a self-taught junior who really wants to prove themselves in the industry.

This is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £25,000-£35,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

The successful candidate will be provided with an iMac and complementing hardware but is required to have a desk space, decent internet connection and the ability to focus in their home environment.

Whilst the role is remote, there will be the opportunity to join the team for social events, most of whom are based in the Berkshire area.

  • A broad scope of work, developing across various technologies and tech stack.
  • Learn from and be guided by more senior developers
  • Involvement in the full project lifecycle including idea conception, briefing, website architecture, coding, testing, documentation, and ongoing maintenance
  • Design and implement application and platform components.
  • Develop software using ColdFusion, Ruby and PHP as appropriate and required.
  • Work with other developers to create new features and functionality.
  • Collaborate across the business to understand commercial requirements.
  • Follow best practices to ensure stability and security of company systems.

  • Experience using HTML, CSS, and PHP
  • Framework Experience e.g. WordPress, Laravel
  • An understanding of version control using Git and GitHub
  • An understanding of core programming concepts (OOP / MVC etc.)
  • Desired but not essential:
  • Experience of AWS services (e.g. S3, EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS, AMQ, ElastiCache)
  • Experience with ColdFusion and Ruby back-end programming languages
  • An understanding of RESTful API concepts
  • An understanding of cross-browser compatibility, SEO principles and responsive web design
